About us
Loughmourne Presbyterian Church was built as a meeting house in 1804, it was used as a meeting place for the Covenanters until 1893 when it became a Presbyterian Church.
Since 1804 the congregation has been faithfully served by eight Ministers including our present Minister the, Rev R J McCullough.
The names of the previous Ministers and the time they served in Loughmourne are as follows;
| Rev Dr John Paul -11th September 1805 - March 1848. |
| Rev William Close - 7th November 1848 - 3rd August 1897. |
| Rev William Lundie - 7th December 1897 - 28th January 1903. |
| Rev Samuel Shaw - 11th august 1903 - 19th November 1932. |
| Rev Thomas Blakely - 9th October 1934 - 31st May 1952. |
| Rev Thomas Houston - 22nd October 1952 - 21st may 1956. |
| Rev John McFall - 1st July 1957 - January 1989. |
| Rev R J McCullough was installed as Minister of the joint charge of Loughmourne and Woodburn churches on 25th May 1990. |
Loughmourne Presbyterian Church, on the 1st July 1957, joined with Woodburn Presbyterian Church, where Rev John McFall had been their Minister since 1948. The union between the two churches has been very successful with the congregations continuing to support each other.
Our aim is; To know Jesus from God's Word and to make Jesus known in "OUR" world.
